Mother Nature Smiled

Mother Nature smiled on the racers and fans at Wilkesboro Raceway Park with almost perfect weather Saturday evening. Along with the stars and cars of the WRP Points Series, The Glory Days jet dragster piloted by Jerry McCart and Tommy Rosberg and his Thriller jet dragster were on hand to wow the crowd with huge fireballs and screaming 200mph+ runs. McCart had a few problems on the night but still came back for every round to give the fans what they cane for. Rosberg ran pretty much flawlessly to take the 3 round match race win. Taylorsville's Mike Woodring came out of his self imposed semi retirement only to do what he does best...win. Woodring and his powerful purple dragster shut down all chalengers including Boone's Bud Townsend in the finals. In Modified ET Statesvilles John Plott and his mighty 57 Chevy finally broke through to get a win. Meeting up with Philip Harrison in the finals, Plott would not be denied. "It's about time!" said a smiling Plott. "I've been waiting for this for a long time now" Hannah "Bubblegun" Blevins continued her domination of the Jr. Dragster division at WRP. Blevins has reached the final round everytime but one that she has visited WRP this year. Saturday night, good friend Luke Eggers tried to shut her down, but that didn't happen. Blevins ran her numbers and took her 6th win of the 2010 WRP racing season. This Thursday WRP is the place to be if you like Test N Tune and street racing. For only $8 you can watch the action or get in your car and join in! Also on hand will be the Carquest True Street Challenge Race and the Crossroads HD Street Bike Challenge. Come out and join the fun! Saturday night, the Stars and Cars of the WRP Points series will be back to give the fans the great fast paced racing action that WRP is known for.
